Comments: I had a good stay at this hostel. There are somethings you can't control (ie very loud groups of kids running around outside your door for 5 hours straight), so just come prepared! Breakfast was nice and hearty, nice kitchen to use. Walk to town is not bad at all. Rooms are a bit institutional, but hey it's a place to sleep!

Comments: Very safe, clean, family friendly hostel. Could have been slightly more fun for us young travellers. A bit out of town, but the walk along the river is gorgeous - just don't go alone at night! Staff were super friendly and rooms very comfortable.

Comments: I know that most of people go to York as tourists, but I was attending a workshop in the university... So I had to eat my breakfast in 5 minutes in order to get to the university a bit before 9am... Regardless this, the place is great, not very central, but still great. Maybe you could explain better in the website which are the benefits in being a member of YHA, as this is the seconf time that I stay in a YHA and I have no idea how the membership works. Cheers!

Comments: Spacious rooms. 20 min walk to town. Good all you can eat breakfast makes price more reasonable. Showers were gross. Could be worse/better.

Comments: Good, spacious quiet hostel with probably the best breakfast I've ever had at a hostel! The showers were a little bit moody, but ok once you found the knack of it.

Comments: Great experience. Location is a bit far out of central York, but it's not too bad. You can always take a bus or a cab.

Comments: Nothing too exciting, but there aren\'t many hostel options in York, and so overall this was a good experience. There\'s a bar in house which was nice, and the rooms are clean and comfortable, but it\'s a very long walk from the train station and it\'s more of a family-oriented place than most backpackers are accostomed to.

Comments: Tim was excellent as a manager by being fexible and accommodating as we had an extra guest whom was not part of our initial plan. It is the best hostel we had stayed in UK.

Comments: the staff was very friendly and kind. the only problem was the room got a strange bad smell I thing was the all hall and it was during the 3 days. Th bar was ok, and the prices as well. It's quite far from the town center but you can get used to.

Comments: I have booked 2 rooms twin rooms (shared bathroom) on 17 aug 08. I have paid a deposit of 10% for this confirmation. Howerver, upon arrival, i was told that that was no such confirmation and ONE -QUAD sharing room is given to me at the same rate. How can this happen when i have made a reservation and it was confirmed. I would like to get a refund and explanation on it

Comments: BEST Free breakfast ever! Plus the manager upgraded us to a private room rather than a dorm for free...was a bit of a walk from town with bags though.
