Comments: Damn good! A good size of room. Cleaned daily. Very quiet and no road noise. English speaking staff. A great (safe) location near tubes and Plaza Mayor. Just great!!..... fyi They did however try and move us to their sister hostel (apparently not of the same standard) but were ok when I said no thankyou!

Comments: They put three girls in a really cramped, dark room with no natural light, no mirror, with one bed that was slightly smaller than a single. It was made more annoying by the fact that there were three larger, empty, three full sized bed rooms that we had to walk past every day. Each room had a large dressing table and mirror and big window with natural light. Apart from the unfortunate room allocation (room 24) it was clean and quiet and as expected.

Comments: Enjoyed being close to the center of Madrid. The street noise is loud for the late 20s but the hostel itself was quite. Towels, linen, air condition (when asked for remote) were available. Very pleased. If you are looking to meet a lot of people we did not meet them at the hostel but there are a lot of places around it that you could do that. Plus free internet/computer use.

Comments: Hostal Cervelo and and Hostal Martin are run by the same owners. Hostal Cervelo was outstanding. It is really a Pensione. They have daliy room service, digital and analog TV and AC. I highly recommend them.

Comments: Good place to stay if you are not looking for anything to extravagent. Simple yet clean rooms with the necessary amenties. Staff was not super helpful or friendly but they were always around if you did have questions. Walls and doors are very thin and everything can be heard. Slightly noisy, request a room away from the shared washrooms. Other than that the room was exactly what we needed, great location and cleanliness.

Comments: Unfortunately when we got there, they made us wait to take us to another hostel that was a 2 star rating. They didn't even say anything about going to another hostel and that hostel charged us more money. It was ridiculously unprofessional. The hostel smelled of smoke, we had to leave our key at the front desk, and the whole place was like being in a horror movie. Make sure you get what you booked for.

Comments: I had an amazing time the room was extremely clean. Staff are great and location, location, location, is unbeatable. Extremely close to everything and a quite place to stay with air conditioner included. I would recommend this hostal to anyone, hands down. Cannot beat the price and location and safety.

Comments: hostel is very nice. we were allowed to choose the 4 bedded room and later taken to another building which is newer and cleaner. there's a small sharing kitchen and washing machine in the building, very convenient. there're also a lot of nice restaurants around the area. though the rooms are not really spacious, the 4 of us enjoyed our stay in the hostal. highly recommended!

Comments: Hostal Martin was a great place to stay in Madrid. It is centrally located on Calle Atocha, with Plaza Mayor, Puerta de Toledo, Palacio Real, Museo Sophia, the Prado Museum, the train station, and a botancal garden all within walking distance. The staff were helpful. When we showed up, we were taken to a newer buiding down the street, where the rooms were very clean and we had our own (very nice) bathroom. The rooms were cleaned daily and the hostel itself was very well kept, had a kitchen, nice showers, television, etc. Would certainly recommend!

Comments: We were in a private twin bed ensuite and it was clean and very very comfortable. Towels provided, no push shower, rooms cleaned everyday, and tv. The only small problem was that the rooms were a little chilly since there was central heating that was turned on after 7pm at night and turned off at 11 in the morning.

Comments: A very value for money hostel. The 2 single bed with attached bathroom room we stay is like a hotel room, we are very very satisfied. The location is perfect as well, 2 stations away from train station and 5 min walk to the Sunday market.. will definitely recommend it to my friend and come back if I have the chance

Comments: We were locked out of the "24-hour" hostel, because they make you leave your key when you go and the night guard fell asleep, so we had to sneak into the hostel through some dark alley and were actually able to get in our room without going through security at all - not safe and not fun at 330am. The hostel was clean, but loud due to thin walls - we were told to be quiet once when we were talking in a normal voice volume - be sure to bring ear plugs. The location is good, but there are tons of hostels to choose from in the same area.

Comments: Room was clean, tidy and a good size for the money. The street was noisy but I think that's just to be expected in Madrid. Only thing we were confused about were the lights. Had to hunt someone down to tell us what we were doing wrong. Then we realized how great this system was! No wasting electricity - love it! Staff was very friendly.

| Comments: A more than decent place to stay in Madrid.
The location is great. The room was good: airconditioning, shower and bed were good.
The staff is friendly and helpfull.
Not so much a place to meet others travellers (since the public space to meet others is small).
Internet is available for free.
All in all a really good place to start your Madrid sightseeing from. |
