Max was a fantastic host and friend, enthusiastic and proud of both the hostel and the city. His staff were also very friendly and attentive, just adding to my wonderful first time in Florence. Regardless of the circumstances on how I'll return to Florence, I'd definitely come back to Ostello Gallo D'Oro!

The staff (owner-operators) are friendly to a fault and dedicated to making sure you have a pleasant stay. Lockers in rooms have locks installed, which is a nice touch.

They welcomed us with a big smile, gave us all the information we needed, a city map, and told us all the places we couldn´t miss in Florence. Quite good location, 10 minutes away from the Duomo and not too far from the Railway Station. The room and bathroom were very nice and clean. Breakfast was very good too. Highly recommended!

The rooms were very clean and the showers had excellent water pressure. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Florence!

Breakfast was great, location was pretty good really only a 20 min walk to anywhere you needed to be in Florence. When we wanted to stay an extra day and they were booked arranged another spot at a pension close by at the same rate, Will be going back with my husband soon.

They were so genuinely warm. Sylvie helped me lookup train schedules to Pisa even though there\'s a computer for the guests that I could have used. Very comfortable, and the staff were so friendly, and treated us like personal guests. Everything was very clean and there were ample facilities for everyone. It was a little bit further from the river than I would have liked - though Florence is small so it doesn't matter. I would advise catching a bus from the train station rather than walking if you have a lot of luggage, because it is a fair distance. I would highly recommend this place.
