Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating Australia 17th November 2008 Female 31-40 2/5 Comments: ok if you are happy with a ma and pa run hostel. rooms face the street so you need ear plugs. no stove, kettle, you have to ask for a bottle opener. common room is at the reception is so nobody uses it.computer/internet is very slow. no key to dorms or to enter building, front door open weekdays only - we were stuck outside and had to find a phone, they answered the the second phone call. good things are that the rooms and bathrooms are well heated.

(It's not a party hostel.) Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, colourful decor, security entry. Fresh towels & delicious huge breakfast included! The owners are really friendly and accommodating (they speak Spanish, not much English). No cufew. A better lounge area would create a more social atmosphere.

And watch out the staff do not speak english (although this I hear is common for Madrid).

Linens are included, as well as a locker with key, so there is no need to bring your own lock. Breakfast is included as well. I never had to wait for a bathroom. The lack of a designated common area did not bother me at all; I met plenty of people in the lobby, in my room, and over breakfast in the kitchen. Overall a great experience that I would recommend to anyone who likes comfort and cleanliness.

That might not be as much of an issue for other rooms, but we were right by the door/office area. Bathrooms were nice and new, always clean. Free internet was nice, would have liked to be able to use the washer/dryer. Kitchen only included a fridge and a microwave.

I made lots of friends in the hostel and when I left this hostel I was still staying in Madrid. I wanted to come back to visit some friends and he kicked me out. First wouldn't let me in the rooms, then no kitchen and said to stay in the reception area. Then he no longer tolerated that and he was rude so I am giving him a bad review.

We really could not have asked for a better place. The staff was very friendly, helpful and made obvious efforts to make sure all guests were accommodated. Cleanliness was superb! It was also nice to have large secure individual lockers inside each room!
