Comments: Japanese style rooms were a novelty, free internet which is good. it has a midnight curfew, which isnt ideal, but overall a good place to stay. If you do stay here when you get out the metro station double back on yourself and the hostel is straight down the road!!

Comments: It is a traditional japanses style accommodation. If you don't mind the public shower,it's accepatble with cheap price. But one unsatisfactory thing was that I found a very big cockroach in my room.Very scary and horrible.

Comments: The hostel isn\'t the greatest, but it suited my needs for the night (cheap, simple, close to subway). The security is fine, but the neighborhood is interesting. There isn\'t anything to do in the hostel but use the internet, other than that, I sucessfully wasted some time at the shopping mall down the road. I was just waiting to leave Japan, so if you are looking to actually stay and see Osaka, probably not the best choice.

Comments: This place is in a dodgy area of Osaka. Lots of homeless people on the street on the walk to the "Hotel". One of the staff members we met spoke broken key-word English but the others didn't. The place is very run down, extremely basic, but the room has air-con which was the bonus for us! If you're gonna be out all day and just need somewhere to crash then this place would be ok. But it's not a "warm" place to just "hang out" in during the day etc.

Comments: Having a TV and air conditioning in the room was really nice, but the traditional japanese styled bathroom was a problem. It was the same bathroom for men and women, only the time schedule was different.

Comments: Perfect if you just need somewhere cheap to crash at night. Small rooms, no shower in the mornings - not so good if you like your comforts.

Comments: I got a good price for the room, but probably wouldn't stay here again. The hotel is very noisy and the walls are so thin you can hear people using the restroom down the hallway. Also, the shared bath hours are very annoying. There are only a few hours each evening you can use the shared showers, so no showering in the morning. Also, the amount you save by staying here outside the main tourist areas is quickly lost by a couple trips on the subway.

Comments: It occurred to me as I came out of the station that I stayed here a few years ago - it was much cleaner than I remembered. The beds were comfy and the AC worked. The bath times were a little inconvenient, as we were really sweaty and wanted to get washed before going out again in the evening. However, they have an agreement with a hotel close by. Can\'t complain really, it was so cheap for Japan - you get what you pay for

Comments: Hotel Taiyo's location is hard to evaluate : it feels both risky and warm at the same time. The rooms are ok, the AC is a blessing during summer and overall, you get not only what you pay for, but also overall a correct accomodation. If I wanted to spend that amount on a hotel again, hotel Taiyo would be fine.

Comments: I stayed in Taiyo with my partner over a period of 5 days. Well worth the money and, while there wasn\'t a lot in the hostel entertainment-wise for Westerners (Tv was in Japanese, not even English or American news), it is in an excellent location, close to subways and JR railway lines. Great to experience the Japanese traditions and culture first hand with bathing, etc. Not for the self conscious!

Comments: Good, cheap place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Didn't ask for the porn channel, but as the walls and doors were paper-thin, we got it between 3-5 when our neighbors got rambunxious. Enjoy!

Comments: we didnt realise that the showers were communal and at set times, and that the area seemed to be largely populated by homeless males, this is something 3 females would be concerened about. We stuffed up our days and arrived a day early but there stuff were helpful enough despite the language barrier! Its not the best place to stay if you are a backpacker looking for a sociable atmosphere, or proper kithen facilities.

Comments: Mainly the staff was ok, only we wanted to use the clean towel and sheets service after 2 nights, but they didn`t clean it when we came back so we had to get our own clean towels and sleep in the old sheets. Next to that there wasn`t any public room where you could meet other people or chill out. The rooms were very small but that was to be expected for the low price.

| Comments: The staff is nice but does not speak a lot of english.
the area is one of osakas poorest so there are a lot of homeless persons, who don`t give you any trouble though.
Everything was super clean. Would go there again. |

| Comments: I found the location of the Hostel to be in an out of the way of everything location. Luckily the Metro system is really good and that helped to get me around Osaka. I have no real gripe about the place, though I don`t think I recomend other to stay there if they wanted to go out and have a good time.
Some really good local restruants in a very close proximity to the Hostel. If you want to get a local flavour feel, this would a be good place to stay.
All in all, I did have a good time, but spent most of it on my own because the hostel had no social environment. |

Comments: if you take a room with a double-bed, it cost only 10euros per night for one person. You will have a television and a freezer in the room. REALLY REALLY a good one. And the place it is also easy to go to umeda or nanba by metro (midousuji-sen) !

Comments: Overall I am satisfied with Hotel Taiyo and enjoyed my stay there. Although the building is a bit old but the room is clean. This is my first time trying public bath and I enjoyed it. The only inconvenient is I have to go to 9th floor to use the ladies toilet. For those who don't mind unisex toilet, they are available at every floor. This is really a good deal for this price and I will stay here again if I come back to Osaka.

Comments: This hotel offers typical japanese sleeping - tatami matress, japanese bathroom, it is interesting experience:) Me and my friend shared double room. It was small but very clean. Sleeping was comfartable. Just bit noisy cause the window faced busy street. Location was all right. Close to JR line and subway line too. There is convenient shop pretty close too. They have only two computers. The hotel wasnt too busy at the time of our stay so we didnt have a problem to use the internet. Im not too familiar with the location regarding pubs and clubs because we didnt really look for any of those sort of entertaiment. There is no common meeting room for people though.
