Albert Heijn supermarket in 1 minute walk, and there are bars and discos near, so on weekend nights it can be a bit noisy.

The room was great, the location is central, and the host, Edwin, made sure that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The street gets a bit loud at night with the local bars open quite late, but it is Amsterdam after all. So we were up quite late most nights anyway. We\'ll definitely be staying there on our next visit to Amsterdam.

Staff are cool, very relaxed attitude just like Amsterdam. They let me rest in my room till I had to leave for my plane which was at 6pm.. so really pleased to have stayed there. FYI. It is in the Gay area and there are lots of bars and a buzz here so if you are a light sleeper you may want ear plugs over the weekend.. although you will probably be out anyways.. Very good spot overall.

I recommend eating breakfast at the coffee shop, it was yummy! There are lots of bars and eateries on the street where the guesthouse is located, and it is close to trams. About a 10 minute walk to the red light district. House cats were really cute!

Maybe the only problem is that it stands on a busy street in a popular district, and people shout all night. Hosts are very friendly, including two housecats.

However only 1 bathroom but it was v clean. Staff was flexible when I had to arrive after midnight. And yes the cat is really cute & sneaked into the room at every opportunity! Thx Downtown.

If you want a comfortable, relaxing yet fun filled time in one of the nicest parts of town...the Downtown Guesthouse is it. Great price, wonderful room with a comfortable bed and a snuggly kitty, and the Edwin making sure you are comfortable and having fun. Who could ask for more. Plus the cafe downstairs is beautiful, and betty too next door is more than convient. This guesthouse is right next to all of the great shopping, amazing restaurants, and the floating gardens and is maybe a ten minute walk to the bustling inner city. I felt incredibly at home and will definitely stay there again. Thanks Edwin for a great stay!!!!!

The room and bathroom were exceptional and the kitty cats were so friendly. Just a note - bring earplugs because it gets loud outside. I can't wait to stay here again!!!

I think the prices ae extortionate throughout amsterdam for accomodation but this was one of the most reasonable i could find. i could not get the wifi to work though which was annoying and either way it was not free anyway.

Plus the food downstairs in the cafe was terrific. The room was very tidy, full of magazines, books, and dvd\\\'s. Location was awesome. There is a resident cat in the house who is your friend in 1 second flat. Cant fault this place at all. Oh and the free map was very detailed with lots of pictures. :) Thanks Edwin you made our stay in Amsterdam great. Would definately stay again.
