The only down side was a severe lack of public transport in the area (but the owner did drop us off and offer to pick us up from the local town).

People are very friendly. One evening we ordered a meal which which was too expensive! If you eat there, ask for the price ;-)

Arnold and Wendy (owners) were kind enough to upgrade us too. We are both city kids and a break out in the middle of the wine growing region of the pyrenees was a perfect get away. You will need to hire a car to get the most from the region if you want an action packed holiday, but if you want something cheap, cheerful and very peaceful in the French idyll, this is it. You must take a bus from Perpignan though, so arrive before 4:30pm to catch the last one (or pay 70+ euros for a cab). A rented car would also be nice as the place is somewhat isolated. Perfect retreat from the city; nice place to hide and write a novel. Very friendly staff which will go above and beyond to serve you. You can buy breakfast and dinner here too, although it is a little expensive. As country lodges go, this is an excellent one.

Arnaud and his wife are two of the friednliest and welcoming people we had met on our travels. Great advice and help on area around the hotel and good wholesome food. Go there.

We were able to make the Cathar's Route on one day because of its location. The place is very quiet, clean and the owners were very attentive (more than any 5 stars hotel I've been in).
