We had a very dark and not very clean room on the 1st floor (the best ones are on the 2nd floor, reception floor) the staff couldnt find our booking even though we've called them before...and the breakfast was poor.

Location is PERFECT, 5 min walk, literally, to the Academia where the David is. Free Wifi, PS2, huge library of travel books, excellent friendly staff with great english. Rooms are simple and have everything you\'d need. Will stay there again!! If you need a place to stay cheap, at a great location with staff that\'ll help you with anything, this is the one for you.

Staff were nice and helpful. Location was good, 15 minute walk to centre of town. The only negative comments would be the breakfast, really poor, warm milk for the cereal, bad coffee from the coffee machine, hard bread in a basket, needless to say I skipped the breakfast on the second day.

The walk to the main part of Florence wasn\'t long and the staff was great. Breakfast was worth getting up for. Our wireless internet didn\'t work though. :( But it was still a great place to stay.

Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating Ireland 13th September 2007 Female 25-30 4/5 Comments: Hotel savonarola was amazingly cheap for florence, it was just a 10 min walk from centre down a straight road, so you can't get lost. it was very quiet at night around the hotel so your good nights sleep is gaurenteed. the breakfast was pretty poor though, if the had just one thing with a decent cup of coffee that they done well for breakfast, it would be better for staff and clients. The reason was they hadn't enough beds, something was wrong with the bookings in the internet. But we got a room in another hotel directly next to it. Same price. So it was okay.

The breakfast that is included is spartan but what one would expect from a any decent hostel/hotel. I would definately recommend the place, but one thing of note: not a lot of people lounging around, thus not a lot of atmosphere to meet other travelers.

The street noise was loud as well, especially in the morning hours. The service personal was very friendly and helpful, The hostels is situated on a large street but very clkise to the city centre. You can reach the cathedral in 10 minutes by foot. We didn't need to use the bus once.

It is a good 20 minute walk from the historical centre. The internet is free and the breakfast is included. We would stay there again.

Matteo(the son of the ownner)is very nice,friendly and so do the staff. I'll return to this hostel when I'll be back to Florence.

I had a single room which was huge, comfy bed and my own bathroom, not a wc an actual bathroom. The staff were more than helpfull, the free breakfast was ok and because I was there in august maybe it was nice and quiet. Very good price for what you got.

We had a spacious pleasant room (not With a View but quite airy) very pleasant staff and a jug of hot chocolate when the coffee machine didn't work. Would recommend highly. Good shower and other facilities.
