Comments: Its situated on one of Barcelonas prostitution streets. The prostituts were screaming at us when we walked by. We were afraid for our safety everytime we went out the door, day or night. One day when we got back from the beach, there were blood stains on my sheets on the bed and it was all wet, and we hadn´t been home. When asked the staff about it they didn´t asnwer just changed the sheets. DON`T STAY HERE.

Comments: I must say that I expected it to be just a little bit more classy than it was. While we were there someone was actually robed in the Hotel and I don't think that is "normal" to say the least! Right outside the door there are a buch of prostitues and at one point the receptionist actually let one in with a customer and thats how someone was robbed. I dunno go at your own risk

Comments: At first we were shocked! Because a Taxi chauffeur told us that it was a prostitue hotel, but when we arrived there we saw that it wasnt like that at all! The prostitues are on the corner but you have no problem at all! It is actually one of the savest places because of the continues police control! We had a great time the beds were great! It was very clean! Just a great place!!

Comments: Better than i thought it was going to be after reading other reviews! It was straight off Las Ramblas, easy to find, secure Ithe night porter had to open the door), the lifts worked, everywhere was clean and tidy, the room was very clean and tidy, and had possibly been redecorated or updated recently? I can understand other peoples concerns over the ladies of the night in the streets around, but they don't approach you and we never felt threatened at all even in the early hours. Overall i would certainly stay there again, with my kids if i took them to Barcelona!

Comments: Nice and cheap hotel for a Barcelona weekend break. A few minutes walk from La Rambla. Rooms are quite big and clean. Our bathroom wasn't in a separate room and without a curtain. I wouldn't take a breakfast in the hotel. It costs € 5, but the choice is very limited (croissants, some sweat bread, butter, jam, coffee and orange juice).

Comments: It was not the same as in the picture. Also not particularly cheap for what it was which was very basic- not even any furniture other than beds. The room was not that clean either. Also in an interesting area!

Comments: The staff was horrible, were not accomodating whatsoever, one party had to leave and they would not allow the sibling of the other party to sign in instead so one person ended up charged for 7 nights for a double room (very expensive for the ugly hotel) [would not switch it or give a refund], horrible area, horrible staff.

Comments: This was our first stop on a vacation to Spain, so we had to adjust to time difference and just travelling in general. the taxi driver told us we didn't want to stay there because of all the prostitutes, pickpockets. It was true, and a little scary at first, but the hotel was very secure, and we were only a few meters from the Ramblas. The room was a little grim, but adequate, with a very nice bathroom. It was very very noisy all night--lots of drunks on the street below yelling all night long, but if you shut the heavy windows and shutters, it helps a lot. Their were lots of other tourists there, our age, and families, and we weren't bothered by any of the people on the street. The location was great, so overall I would say it was worth it for the price.

Comments: Hotel has quite convinient location - several minutes form La Rambla, not far away from subway station, seafront and Catalunya Square. There is a little noisy nearby the hotel because of girls :) but quite safety - we had no problem, it's even a bit funny. Staff is frendly, but you have to deposit 20E to get a remote control:)

| Comments: I do recommend to everyone searching for a hotel near La Rablas that whatch out some bad known areasof this street. If you mind your social security and want to avoid walking among Drug sellers and ... girls,DO NOT go to Unio street in La Ramblas.
Inside the Hotel was safe, but God knows if you arrive to Barbara dafely or not...I won't use here in barcelona anymore.maybe a calme place this time |

Comments: We thought that overall the staff were friendly, the location great and the rooms good. It was a bit cold though so it would have been nice to have some extra blankets in the room. Also, we asked one of the staff on the front desk what the best way to get to the airport was, and followed her advice but nearly missed the flight! They should probably be more informed about how long it takes, etc. But generally we had a great time and thought Hotel Barbera was excellent value for money!

Comments: The place is extremely noisy... With extremely thin walls.... We could hear everything they were talking about in the room above ours and the noise from the lift is awful... Except for that is the hotel ok.

Comments: I was very upset on returning to the hotel after dinner one night with my brother who lives in Barcelona only to be treated poorly by the staff member on duty who was aggresive and demanded that I could not invite him up to my room for a few drinks. I have travelled the world, including other places in Spain and never experienced such an unwillingness to accommodate us. Also the location, while close to Las Ramblas, was very dangerous at night with the street patrolled with hastling prosititutes and drug dealers. The rooms themselves were very tiny and unkempt. There was no interaction with other guests.
