| Comments: They refused to check me in at the time I indicated at the reservation. They did not give me any cancellation code and charged me the first night although I had to find another accommodation. IT IS A SHAME! |

| Comments: Compared to the hostels in Amsterdam this place was a palace. But regardless, everything was as good as could have been expected in terms of a good, comfortable night's sleep in a spacious and relatively well equipped room.
There is a boiler in the bathroom, which means that turns in the shower at times need to be rationed
All in all, good location half way between the station and old town, with about a ten minute stroll in either direction.
I'd stay there again. |

| Comments: The hotel was ok, very clean and comfortable, but what I didn't like was that I made a reservation for Apart hotel and when I arrived they said that the hotel was overbooked and they took me to another one that was a bit farther away from the city center. They should have said that from the beginning when I booked it, so I could decide by myself. |

| Comments: Very nice, clean hotel, but we were sold travel cards at reception for 2euros per person and told we could go to Cologne by train with them (20mins away) However when we arrived in Cologne we were told in the ticket office that the tickets were only for the VRR region(basically Dusseldorf)and that Cologne was in VRS region. So we then had to buy 5euro tickets. When we told the receptionist at the hotel she was insistent she was right and didn`t offer to refund even though they had been useless to us as we travelled around Dusseldorf on foot. I think the hotel should check their information regarding these tickets as what the train ticket person said to us seemed to make more sense. (The hotel tickets clearly had VRR on them) Other than that, our stay in Apart Hotel was great and breakfast was very good. |

| Comments: We arrived about 10pm in the evening and were given a room with two single beds pushed together despite booking a double bed room. We tried to ring reception to discuss moving rooms but could not work out what number to call. So we walked back down to reception to find that they had closed up and gone home for the night. Then we found we were missing bath towels in the bathroom so we had to wait till after breakfast the next morning to ask for towels so we could have a shower. Apart from this, we thought the place was great. The room was large - more like an apartment than hotel with a kitchen for self catering - the heater warmed the room quickly and the main train station was an easy 8 min walk. The buffet breakfast had a good mix of cereal, fruit and bread plus yoghurt, bacon and eggs. We left our luggage in storage after we checked out, and the storage turned out to be the main reception (i.e. no locks or tags to identify us as the owners). We were slightly worried about this, particularly as the person who was on shift when we arrived to pick the luggage up didn't know us or ask for ID, however I have stayed in other budget hotels in Germany and they all seem to operate this way. |

| Comments: They say it was overbooked, and I was sent to another hotel named v i p hotel.
The vip hotel was like a motel, we were afraid and it was late night.
The room was ok but the next morning I were happy to come out of the place. |

| Comments: Quiet central location. Tram stops outside for main railway station. Main shopping 10 mins walk.
Only blot was English 'laddies' coming in at 4pm after a skinful. Locals were wonderful & accommodating when we needed to leave early on our last day. |

| Comments: Excellent placed, near the city center and 5 mins walking to the Hauptbanhof. The room was small, but clean well decorated. The breakfast was great too and also the staff really nice. Guests have also transports facilities. The Rheinbahn ticket can be bought at the hotel reception for only 2 € it's possible to use all transports in the city and nearby city so as Köln or Wuppertal. |

| Comments: Not a "hostel" its an hotel & at 275 euros per night for a twin room during exhibition time - certainly not cheap - in fact a rip-off !!
Go when there's no exhibitions in town. |

| Comments: We stayed here becasue it was the cleanest/cheapest on the list. When we got to our room we were surprised, it was HUGE!!! bigger than our actual apartment in NY. THere was a small kitchen but I guess we didnt pay for it cause there were no pots/pans provided. The beds were a little old and too firm for my boyfriend but the super clean bathroom leveled it all out. Breakfast was prompt and This is in a very ethnic section of Dusseldorf: no authentic german restaurants in sight! (near the japanese center and lots or middle eastern people.) |
